Gosh! I’d forgotten that I visited Hanoi, in 2008. Opera singer friend Dr Wong Su San was there for a short music conference and I hopped on. I walked old Hanoi town, the narrow streets of shops like our China Town, and the French quarters and opera house. Such different worlds, reflecting the indigenous and colonized personalities of this city. I took a boat ride through the bay and limestone hills, a calm enough ride so no sea sickness.
